This is really a nice shot. But i would prefer to wait for the sky turned in orange, if it was possible, of course. Also you could have changed the contrast, so we would not see the building windows. Then it might seem like a shot from Rome. The statue, itself, looks like one of the angel at Castel de Sant’angelo.
I have to agree with the previous comment. The image would look much more defined with more light around it. Awaiting for the sunrise might have given a nice glow to this statue. Or possibly taking this photo during the last 30 minutes of daylight at the end of the day. The angel of the shot could have changed to show more of the body I thought.
Even though I agree with other two comments, I believe this shot is still good! More contrast or waiting for more of the sun to rise to get more glow on the subject would have really emphasized the statue and given it a “heavenly” look. With the low amount of sunlight though, you get more of a silhouette effect on the statue which is rather interesting!
This picture is very interesting. When I first look at it I would have to agree with the previous comments that it would be nice if the shot was taken at sunrise. On the other hand looking at the picture from an artist point of view, the picture has a lot of character. The fact that the Angel is on top of a building and you can only see the silhouette is a beautiful sight. Sometimes pictures do not always have to be clear.
I would agree with the first comment about waiting for the contract of other colors in the sky before taking the picture. This picture as it stands now is hopeful yet a bit dark due to the shadow corners of this picture. Maybe thats just my mysterious mind at it again or this is alittle Vampire Diaries. After reading other post most say becuase its an angel it is a sweet picture but really I see that angel turning black like the setting sun in the sky and then darkness rises. I guess its all in the eyes of the beholder and thats way I like photograpy because you can let your imagination run free.
I think this is absolutely a beautiful picture!! Never let opinions chancge your perspective on photography. Though I agree with the above comments that waiting for a color change in the sky in the background would be pretty, this is your work. Everyone has their own taste and opinions and if this is how you choose to take the picture then so be it. I think this is gorgeous and I would hang it in my room if I saw this for sale somewhere. This almost looks like it was taken from earlier years, good job!
I can see what the photographer was trying to do with this shot, however, I think it would have a better impact if the photograph was taken at a lower angle closer to the statue with better lighting to contrast the statue.
I like how subtle this photo is in respect to the dark shadow. It contrasts with the light sky in the background, making you focus on the intricate shape of the statuette’s wings. It makes me think of a catholic town. Such as one in Venice or anywhere else in Italy. The high buildings and trees in the background give it the perfect mix of an urban feel. I like this photo a lot.
I really like this picture! But I feel like something is missing, maybe more light? I think the angel is such a beautiful sculpture. It also really makes its surroundings look more beautiful too. The sculpture there really makes the setting outside look great and delicate. The angle that you took the photo from is a unique angle. If there was more color (like from the sun setting), then I think it would have make the angel more powerful in a way, and more significant. Even if the light is not there, it still looks great.
This is a very interesting shot. I like the setting and the content. The only thing that I would change here is the lighting. Although it is good as it is, I think a bit more contrast in the colors would do you some good. It would give the photo a more dramatic effect and catch the eye of the onlooker better.
I love this picture. I think that the lighting is just right for the background to catch the sculpture. The angel is flying in the air. This was a great capture.
